Post by OhioFisher on Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:25 pm

Thanks to- http://IndianLake.com I will be posting their fishing reports probably year round. If you plan on fishing Indian check out this map- http://indianlake.com/maps/fishingmap.htm
:note: I will also be using this topic to post to let all know of fresh reports.
LAKE CONDITIONS TODAY

August 13, 2008 -
11:15 AM - IT IS CLOUDY. THE LAKE IS CALM. WATER TEMPERATURE IS 73 DEGREES. CLARITY IS 14". WIND TODAY IS CALM. IT FEELS LIKE 71 DEGREES. VISIBILITY IS 9 MILES. THE BAROMETER IS 29.84 AND RISING. THE LAKE IS ABOVE NORMAL POOL (AS MEASURED AT THE SPILLWAY).

THE IL FISHING REPORT

Saugeye - The saugeye fishing is excellant with a lot of 18" to 22" fish being caught. Try trolling crankbaits or drift fish with live bait such as large minnow, crawlers or leeches. The fish seem to be scattered so try different areas until you find them.
Crappie - The crappie fishing has slowed some. The biggest part of the crappie has spawned, so try fishing boat docks or brush piles and fish 3' to 4' deep. Different jigs, minnows and waxworms are catching most of the crappie.

Bluegill - The bluegill fishing doesn't get any better than it is right now. Try to find spawning areas and use small rubber baits or Icejigs tipped with redworms, wax worms or spikes.

Catfish - The catfishing is excellant. Tightline fishing seems to be the best, but there's also cats being caught on bobbers. Catfish seem to be about anywhere. They are hitting shrimp, liver, nightcrawlers, shad and prepared bait in a bag.

INDIVIDUAL FISHING REPORTS
Ideal Temperatures for Saugeye -
69-72 degrees is prime for 17-20" eater numbers (45-75 per day) in April/May when they are bunched up on the humps & shallow flats w/much larger total catches of all sizes larger than 20"es & much smaller Dinks & Baby Eyez under 17"es...

June 28 - Saugeye
The bite was on at my old #4 buoy spot and 100 yd radius of it. We couldn't get a bite at chipewa and oldfield beach. Lost a nice fat perch at pew. Did get another 11" perch later. That thing was fat.

Limited by 9:20. Had 10 by 8:00 or so and the bite stopped.Bite lasted an hour. Hit that same spot at around 9 am and caught 3,releasing a smaller one. The 2nd bite lasted 20 mins.

Also took a buddy out tonight and got him 4 eyes until the Thunder and lighning arrived. All around blackhawk and last eye was 20". They started turning on when it rained. Lake was very rough until the storm. Then it looked like a sheet of glass as we loaded the boat.
