Re: Where can i catch some smelt
I am going to give away my age, but back in the day, we would be fishihng East of Mouse Ils and would be cusing those bait robbers for taking our minows while we where fising for perch. Same thing would happen when ice fishing at Huron for perch between the piers. We would still keep and clean and deep fry and dip in ketchup and horseraddish and wash down with plenty of barley pop and have a heck of a fish fry.
Use to live in Michigan and Higgins lake is a lake for targeting smelt.
Personally, I think they have move more to the East and deeper cleaner water.
