Catawba Island Area 12/26/09

Hit a few marinas today, good black ice around 5". The fishing wasnt very good though, we caught a few perch, gills and 1 crappie. We left and went to the sandusky bay, caught a few 7" perch there deadsticking minnows but nothing special. We marked a ton of fish at the bay but could not get them to bite, the other anglers had the same problem. After deciding to leave there, we hit another marina. Just a bunch of dink gills to show for there too. Nothing picture worthy today. We will be fishing the Irish Hills area of Michigan tomorrow.

We went to bass pro afterward to buy some stuff and it was packed with people! Seen Jonny's dad there too.

Five inches sounds very inviting! did you keep any fish?

How thick was the bay, the other day it was open, you fishing springs? Probably cats, try waxies

Nope we didnt keep any fish. No we were not fishing the springs either, ice was around 5". There were lots of open water areas, but most was frozen. We tried waxies but they wouldnt touch them for crap, they seemed to only be hitting the minnows. I believe they were perch, they came in on the electronics 3-4 at a time. 6 FOW
