great sunday afternoon trip...bull bluegills!

took kim and the boys out for the afternoon to a small odnr pond outside of mccomb. we took waxworms and the boys insisted on redworms. good thing they did. couldnt get hit on wax for anything, so kim put on a redworm and it was on. two 8 inchers right off the bat, then a 1 1/2 pound largemouth; all total we landed over 75 bluegills, with 30 of them being bulls with the big bump on the forehead. the boys were able to catch two frogs with their hands and that kept them occupied for the entire afternoon, and when they got away, they marched all around in the weeds pretending to be wolves. what a blast! everyone had a good time and enjoyed what might be the last of the warm weather. all fish were caught on bobber less than 24 inches deep. we took pictures with the phone, and soon as kim figures out how to get them off, we'll post some. hats off to the odnr on this one...well managed and well stocked!

Wow! What a great sounding trip! Brings a smile to my face just reading it! Glad to see they're moving up! Have you ever tried lake la su an? Man its some good fishing for BIG gills. Anyways glad to hear somemone got some fish and if you have any Q's about the pics I'd be happy to help ya
