Peasant Hunt (Thanksgiving Day)

First of my peasant hunts of the year. We got to the conservation club. http://ohcc.us/ Got our areas and set out at 8:00 on Thanksgiving Day. Started in an area we Thought had birds in it and only managed to jump up 1 rooster. Then moved to area where we KNEW there were birds in it only jumped up 3 birds here... Only got 2 of them. Moved to an even better area and I managed to run down one more hen bird. A fun hunt but has been better in years past....

cool. glad you got some. did a job last week in the country up by mccomb. field next to the house where i was working still has standing corn; couldn't believe all the pheasants i saw. made me want to start hunting again. remember to keep the feathers and whip up some flies, for mad river trout fishing. they work great as the pheasant tail nymph.
