the ones i have caught fight pretty good. they have short powerful runs and a lot of head shaking. watch the teeth, they cut the line easily

Ha,
In my opinion walleye have no fight at all! Esp for size its like reeling in a stick with a bit of a fight near the boat. As for teeth they have never cut my line?

To be fair, the smaller ones fight a little better than the bigger ones, but pound for pound the fight isn't all that great. If they inhale the bait, which is rare, they can scratch up the line pretty bad, and I do re-tie a lot more with walleye and saugeye than I do with say bass or catfish. If a fight is what you're looking for it's the smallmouth bass hands down, especially these river smallies down here in the Darby, I've had them come 4' out of the water! That is no exaggeration.

well the huge trout i caught were crazy good fights cause it was on ultra lights with 4 lb test. But ive gotten great fights in teh salt water but no freshwater fish has been really good besides this one 3 lb catfish i caught that was a decent fight also. But teh samllmouth arent really around me only in the reserviors and bigger lakes that are all far from me!
