Shore Fishermans Dream Day-Gills "N" Bass

Went back to East Harbor today because I hadn't done anything all day. Dad dropped me off at the campers launch and I had my mind focused on crappie!!!

I first tried jigging the docks and go figure I got two bullheads, after that I was like-ok wrong spot lol


Then I moved all down the rocks on the harbor side and in the cove and on the outside I picked up a few largies on a beetle spin



After I cleaned that are out, I moved on, saw swans on a nest and had some trouble by them lol Saw a deer crossing right there too(hard to see-but by the lightpole)


So I work around the point and get a nibble nibble from a gill on the spin so I slow it down and let the gill eat it up... Nice big keeper, I decide to try for gills in this spot, and man was that a great choice! First cast I get a bite as my jig is sinking and fish on, like this for at least a half hour, fish after fish, sometimes not even casting to get them! As I would put fish on the stinger, the pole would sit by me and I'd get keepers! Best gill'n I've ever done from shore! Just had my little hotspot and got at least 45 keepers but had difficulties with them such as dropping or ripping through stinger... I had one MONSTER gill but dropped it, completely serious! No fish story, really made me mad!! F.O. for sure as I have two on the picture. I came home with 30 ~ 7in. to 9in.!!!!


After I got 4-5 gills on each hook of my 8 hook stringer, I gave them a break and tried to work the shore for some largies with my spinnerbait
They were on the wind blown shore or points up on the rocks, even got 4 on five casts!!!! They're getting fun now, maybe I'll go back tomorrow?

Yeah, that was the only pink rock I saw on the shore too lol I sure was an eye catcher tonight!!

awesome catch on the gills. love them little dudes, my river wade trip is flooded out so i going pond hoppin after some gills this weekend

wow man looks like a great night! glad you did well just wish you could have caught some crappies. heading out to the old bay bridge tonight for some catfish with the gf

Next Day:
Same spot, same everything pretty much, brought some friends and they couldn't make it past the swan nest but I did and it was a little slower but still some bigguns around-and two perch!!!
Brought home around 25



I think I got both spots cleaned out though lol

Next time I'm going all bass

great pics of the bass, like that angle really brings out the colors, gonna give it a try tommorow if i can beat the skunk

another good day! only caught one cat, 2 white perch and 2 yellow perch. i think that northwest wind all week might have got the fishing a lil screwed up on the bay but it was still fun. let me know next time your going for bass maybe i can make it out

Nice day of fishing and being in the outdoors I bet you need a nap after catching and cleaning
