Deercreek 4/24/09

Went down to deercreek yesterday for the first time this year with the boat , the docks are not in yet but you can still get your boat in pretty easy . The water looks to be down about 6 ft still . Most of the time i was just looking around for under water structure and looking for deeper pockets for later in the year fishing . Trolled around a little and caught a lot of white bass , it seemed that they was biting real good right now . Found some submerged brush piles and started to vertical jig right on top of them , color didn't seem to matter i had a good pick going , they was all small but it was nice to be catching some fish . The closer it got to sunset the bigger the crappie was getting , ended up with a nice little mess of fish . I also caught one channel and until I seen it i was already planing where to place this new huge crappie mount that I had on the end of my line . Seems the bite is good at all the lakes now so good luck , have fun and please be respectful to other outdoors men and nature . Rogue
