Ice Roads on ice clinic Okoboji IA 2010

Ice roads is a instructional 3 day all inclusive on ice fishing class that is for everyone. This year it was held in northwest IA on the Iowa great lakes where you can site fish 15' in the blue water lake made by the glaciers. The species for this session was the giant gills that inhabit the lake. Students come from 5 different states this year.

Friday afternoon starts off with seminars by Dave Genz then moves to round tables lead by sponsor companies like Berkley, Vexilar and local guides on how to spooky fish in the ultra clear water. This is a great way to try new products like the new flasher that Vexilar is coming out with this summer. Saturday and Sunday are spent hands on with instructs cutting holes and staying on the fish to insure the students can try what was shown the night before.

All meals and lodging were provided by the Okoboji bible camp located on the lake.

Next years Ice Roads clinic will be in northern MN for slab crappie.

Next yr come to MN or in two weeks going to Orr MN to fish the Dave Genz Invatational and I have rented a house so you have a bed to sleep in if you make the drive.

Next season I need to fish Erie and was reminded by a friend we went another year with going to Bass to fish for big eye's thru the ice.
