got on the ice today!!!

got on today about 11 am. ice is only 2-2 1/2 inches thick on farm pond. never been on that thin so it took me til about 12:30 to get enough guts to go out to deep water. glad i did. got 5 bluegill right in a row. about 5 feet deep on my version of genz worm tipped with wax. the wind was pretty strong so i gave up about 1:30...freezing! atleast i got a few first time out. gonna give it a couple of days before i go out again. would like to see 4 inches, it would make me braver since i am by myself; couple spots go 8 feet or so in this pond and would love to bang a few crappie and maybe couple of cats.

I agree wit big al the weather isn't looking good at all... I think though that 2 weeks from now we'll have at least 4in. in most places.
