Maumee Bay Ice Fishing (Pix)

We made it to the park today with all of our stuff get to a few local bait shops and couldn't find waxies... Finally we just decided to head over there anyways just to check it out. We went to the smaller pond below the hill and it had a steady 3-4in. except for a room sized area on the north end wth about 1/1/2in. of ice. We then stopped in at lot #7 on the other pond to find new ice around most of the edges at about 1/1/2in. thick. There was some good ice in some places though enough to fish it and there was someone there that wasn't kenny he was sitting on 5inches. Had one crappie. This week should really tighten it up and we should be fishing quite a few places by next weekend! On the way home we stumbled onto a few tame deer around the refuge. Fun to watch.
