First Smallie on baitcaster-Handlining Largie!!!

Hit the pond for a half hour tonight and was surprised to see some guy down there fly fishing?
As far as I know no one is allowed to fish there so I will let the owners know... He didn't say anthing and only caught one small LM while we were there

Anyways I'm not good with a BC at all but I decided why not try it today... eh... bad Idea lol backlashes were gettin at me but I persisted as I watched a smallie on every cast follow the buzzbait, which wasn't buzzing
He nibbled it a couple times but then I finally got a good hook up and the fight was on!!! Got the nice biggun in!!!

After that I got backlashes even worse and then they finally jammed the reel
But persistence payed off-I cut about 15ft. of line of and learned how to handline hahaha got a nice largie to give me two chances at him!!! Al with my hands!!

Well I was using a cheap one but we have some nice ambassadors if I can get the hang of it

And I'm going to try the freel spool thing

As for the casting I'm liking the side arm deal

dang nice smallie, whats next after hand lineing, u going to try noodlin for cats

man i always thought about noodlin for cats and what would happen if you put your paws on a 30 pound snapper? i dont think i could bring myself to do it lol
