cobb lake...first day out on the boat

we got the boat out yesterday and hit the lake about 1 pm. we tried everywhere, but couldn't find a crappie anywhere. 4 hours later we got 1 ten inch bass to beat the skunk and that was it. here are some pics of us and the lake and our buddy. brother in law flew over in a plane and did a loop for us while we were there, then on his way home flew over again and made the plane rock side to side like he was waving for the boys. they loved it. we talked to a few people and no one was catching anything. our buddy garrett , got this one bass while we ate supper at the boat ramp. i've seen this guy land some awesome bass. catches them in mid summer when everyone else quits fishing the lake. he has taught me a ton. here are the pics.me and the boysour boat---traded a used ice auger for this little beautyour buddy garrettone mean momma goosebig snake i poked with a stick and freaked kim and the boys out when he jumped in the water and swam off..had them all screaming

as for the snake ha we saw one this weekend and I about sh!t lol

that was yesterday....this was this morning. went back from the bank to chase crappie. couldn't find them again. started fishing 4 feet deep with crappie minnows and within 15 minutes landed 3 of these beauties. then went back this afternoon and got 1 more in the same spot same depth and same bait. on ultralight crappie rod with 4 pound test. bass all topped 3 pounds. lady luck was in my favor. still no crappie. the rain and cold front last week must have pushed them out and deep.

You guys should be me-It has taken me 8 years to get this man to smile in a picture!!!!! What a Fish! I was very proud! Even though we didn't catch anything on the boat we had an awesome day out! Just nice to be on the boat again! As for the boat, I have plans on painting it up this summer. Can't wait to go again! Oh yea, the snake, it was fine until it moved!
